Framework of use
Terms of use
These terms govern use of the Sokoban-Lettres game on sokoban-letters.com and in its Android application. They are issued by Kyiv-Bordeaux Studio, publisher of the game. Last updated: 10 August 2026.
1. Acceptance
Using the game constitutes acceptance of these terms. Anyone who does not accept them should not use the service. Data processing is described separately in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of this framework.
2. Description of the service
Sokoban-Lettres is a puzzle game accessible from a browser or an Android application. It includes an Adventure mode organised into chapters, a Daily Challenge renewed each day with its archive, a letter collection, leaderboards, and difficulty and language settings.
The service is provided free of charge. There is no paid content, no subscription and no purchasable virtual currency. Funding comes from advertising.
3. Access and availability
The game is designed to remain usable offline for most of its features. Connected features — syncing, leaderboards, downloading new challenges, displaying ads — depend on third-party services and a network connection.
The publisher does not guarantee continuous availability or uninterrupted operation. It reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service, in particular for maintenance, technical evolution or cessation of activity. Where reasonably practicable, a lasting and foreseeable interruption will be announced on the site beforehand.
4. Accounts and identity
The game can be used without registration. An anonymous technical identity is created automatically so that connected services can work.
Linking a Google account is optional and serves two purposes: recovering progress on another device, and appearing on leaderboards under a nickname. Users are responsible for the security of the Google account they link and for actions carried out from it.
5. Rules of conduct
Use of the service must remain fair. The following are prohibited in particular:
- using an automated program, an external solver or any method intended to produce scores not obtained by playing;
- manipulating the device clock, local storage or network exchanges in order to influence a streak, a score or a leaderboard;
- using a nickname that is abusive, hateful, misleading or infringing on a third party's rights;
- any attempt at unauthorised access to systems, accounts or other people's data;
- any action intended to disrupt the service or circumvent its technical limitations.
A score or nickname breaching these rules may be removed from a leaderboard without notice. In cases of serious or repeated breach, access to connected features may be restricted.
6. Advertising
Ads are served by Google — AdSense in the browser, AdMob in the Android application. They appear at transition points and do not interrupt a grid being solved.
Some ads are optional and offered in exchange for an in-game advantage. Declining them never prevents progress, and no essential feature is conditional on watching an ad. The publisher does not select individual ads; issues can be reported through the contact page.
7. Intellectual property
The Sokoban-Lettres name, its interface, graphics, texts, soundtrack, level catalogues and source code are protected and remain the property of their publisher or respective rights holders.
Users are granted a personal, non-exclusive right to use the game. Reproduction, distribution, modification, decompilation and commercial exploitation of all or part of the service are excluded without prior written permission. The game mechanic known as “Sokoban” belongs to a long-standing and freely reused genre; these terms cover only this particular implementation.
8. Progress and data
Unsynced progress lives on the device. Clearing the site's data, uninstalling the application or using private browsing results in its loss, with no possibility of restoration.
Synced progress is kept for as long as the linked account exists. The publisher does not guarantee indefinite retention and recommends against treating the service as an archiving mechanism.
9. No warranty and liability
The service is provided as is. The publisher does not warrant that it will be free of errors, nor that it will be fit for any particular purpose.
The publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the service — in particular loss of progress, interruption of a daily streak or unavailability of a leaderboard. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, in particular in cases of gross negligence or personal injury.
10. Third-party services
The service relies on third-party providers, notably Google (Firebase, Analytics, AdSense, AdMob, authentication) and a consent management platform. Their use is subject to their own terms. The publisher exercises no control over the content of the ads served or over changes to those services.
11. Minors
The game contains no adult content and is not specifically directed at children. A minor should only link a Google account with the agreement of the person holding parental responsibility.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be amended to reflect changes to the service or to the regulatory framework. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its update date. Continuing to use the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the new version.
13. Applicable law
Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the user's country of residence remain applicable and are not displaced by anything in these terms.
14. Contact
Any question about these terms can be sent to contact@sokoban-letters.com. Details are on the contact page.
